Good evening, Riverside families. In guidance with updated recommendations from the Center for Disease Control and Governor Ricketts, to limit gathering of more than 10 persons, the Nebraska Department of Education Commissioner has recommended school closings to mitigate the spread of coronavirus. Effective immediately, Riverside Public School will be closed for all staff and students through March 31, at which time we will re-evaluate our situation. We will continue to share with our families and community as relevant coronavirus information becomes available.

Effective Monday, March 16 all NSAA activity practices are suspended until Monday, March 30 and all NSAA activity competitions are suspended until Thursday, April 2. These suspensions may be extended should the conditions warrant.

Our Riverside team is proactively working to keep our students, staff, and community healthy and safe. Provided is the information we would like to pass along to our patrons regarding COVID-19. If you are ill with the listed symptoms or been in contact with someone who was exposed to COVID-19, you are strongly encouraged to contact the Loup Basin Public Health Department at 308-346-5795.

Riverside Public schools will postpone community Speech night until further notice. The NSAA is aware of the fluidity of COVID-19 and the potential impact hosting statewide events could have regarding the on-going public health threat. Many of our member schools are making decisions in the best interest of their student participants, coaches and communities. The NSAA is regretfully suspending district and state speech contests until further notice.

The Middle School Student Council organized the February Door Decorating Contest and raised $166 dollars. Today they took the proceeds to Esch’s to buy food for the Albion Food Bank. Thank you to all that sent coins to school with your kids so they could vote!
